Terms
Last updated 13 October 2026.
These terms are the agreement between you and Black Book Associates for the Pods iPhone app and this website. By creating an account, you agree to them. Questions go to contact@joinpods.co.
The service
Pods is a private group chat for small-business owners in the United States. A pod is a room of people in the same industry and the same part of the country. A pod opens once three people are waiting and holds up to twenty.
Pods is available in the United States. If you are somewhere else, we keep the profile you started and there is no pod to join yet.
Your account
You sign in with an email code, Apple, or LinkedIn. You give your name, city, job title, industry, and headcount, and you can add a photo. You agree that this information is yours to share and that it is accurate.
One person, one account. You are responsible for what happens on your account. You can delete it from Account in the app.
The room
People in your pod can see your name, your photo, and your job title, and everything you post. They do not see your email.
The house rules you agree to when you join are part of these terms:
- Share what you know, and keep that conversation in the pod.
- Do not pitch yourself, your company, or a product.
- Do not harass, threaten, or spam anyone.
- You can leave whenever you want.
- If a quarter of the pod votes to remove someone, that person loses the seat.
You can report a message and block that person. We review reports. We can remove a message, remove a person, or close an account that breaks these rules.
What you post
You keep ownership of the messages, photos, files, voice notes, and contacts you send. You give Pods permission to store them and show them to the people in your pod, including on a call during Live Connect, for as long as the product needs them to run the room.
Do not post anything you do not have the right to share. Do not post anyone else’s private information unless they would expect it in that conversation.
Subscriptions
The first three days in a pod are open. After that, keeping the seat needs an auto-renewable subscription from the App Store. There are two lengths: one month and one year. In the United States the prices are $9.99 a month and $69.99 a year. The price you confirm is the price Apple charges, and it can differ by country.
The first time you subscribe to Pods monthly or Pods yearly, the first month is free. Apple then charges the price of the plan you chose, and it renews for the same length until you cancel. If you have already used that free month, the subscription starts at the paid price.
Apple charges your Apple ID. Manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple ID settings at least 24 hours before the period ends. Deleting the app does not cancel it. If a subscription ends and you do not subscribe again, the seat can be released after 7 days. Leaving a pod does not refund a period you have already paid for, and a new pod asks for the same subscription.
Restore Purchases in the app puts an existing subscription back on this account. One Apple subscription attaches to one Pods account.
Stopping
You can leave a pod, or delete your account, at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or stop offering Pods. If we close the service, we will say so at contact@joinpods.co or in the app.
Pods is a place for owners to talk. It is not legal, financial, medical, or professional advice, and a conversation in a pod is not a promise from us. The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for what other members say or do, or for a pod that has not formed yet.
Privacy
The privacy policy explains what we store. It is part of using Pods.
